Our Champion Marcos Baghdatis made his first appearance on the tennis courts at the Open d'Orleans in France, making a comeback, after his serious wrist injury which caused him an absence from the Olympics in Beijing, as well as from the US Open this year.
Baghdatis who entered the draw with a wild-card entry, has managed to reach the semis of the event after playing some excellent tennis at times, despite his lengthy absence from the tennis scene in the past four months . Baghdatis who beat Galvanni, Luggassi and Stahovsky on his way to the semis, retired at 2-4 down, during his match against Rochus in the semifinals, after experiencing some normal tiredness in his right arm. As we have been informed, this injury has nothing to do with his previous injury on his wrist, and is considered normal, due to the fact that our champion has been absent from playing tennis matches for such a long time. Baghdatis will continue his tennis schedule as planned at the Open de Moselle, and is looking forward for the upcoming indoors season.
