Our Champion, Marcos Baghdatis, making his first ever appearance at an ATP International Series tournament final, with coach Yiannos Hadjigeorghiou on his side, did not manage to overcome Thomas Berdych, losing in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4. During the tournament, Baghdatis showed that he is on top form on grass, with his eyes focusing now in the upcoming Grand Slam in England.
Our Champion who turned 22 on Sunday, celebrated his birthday on court during the trophies ceremony, where the organisers have presented him with a surprise birthday cake along with the runners-up trophy. He is now scheduled to participate in Ordina Open of the Netherlands before going to Wimbledon in one week´s time.
