Our Champion Marcos Baghdatis in a fairly easy three set match, in front of a very emotional crowd of fans inside the Spyros Kyprianou arena, secured victory for our team, winning Egyptian's No. 4 Mohamed Safwat, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3.
Our Champion gave no chances to the Egyptian who despite the pressure being imposed upon him, served extremely well and proved that he is a great fighter on court. At the end of the match, the whole team entered the arena and our National Anthem was heard in the stadium.
