Our National Junior Team Under 12, consisting of Sergis Kyradjis, Constantinos Elia, Ioanna Savva and Mara Argiriou, took part in the International Tournament U12, PUGLIA - AI CT MAGILE.  The team's captain was coach, Philip Alkiviades of Famagusta Tennis Club.

After a superb performance throughout the week, the Cypriot uprising stars, proved that the future of Cyprus tennis, is far more than promising.  Sergis Kyradjis won the championship in the singles event after defeating Mattielo Federico of Italy 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.  In the doubles event, teaming up with Constantinos Elia, our team won the event, after defeating Napolitano and Cestarolo of Italy in the finals, 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.

In the meantime, Constantinos Elia reached the quarters in the singles event, after losing to Mathiello Federico of Italy.  Ioanna Savva won 4 rounds in the consolation event and gained the consolation trophy with a final score of 9-5 (long set).  Mara Argiriou managed to reach the second round of the girls event after losing to Madina of Russia 6-4, 6-2.

Our team has been invited by our Champion Marcos Baghdatis and coach Yiannos Hadjigeorghiou, to attend this year's Foro Italico, and watch our Champion face Carlos Moya this Tuesday 8/5.
